The Karuselli Chair: Iconically Stylish

The Karuselli (Finnish for Carousel) chair was designed by the Finnish furniture designer Yrjö Kukkapuro in 1964.
Originally conceived while the designer was enjoying a Vodka tipple, he fell asleep in the snow and awoke inspired by the imprint his body left behind.
The original chairs were manufactured by Haimi, then later on made by Avarte, Finland.

Made from fibreglass the chair has a sensual and unique shape and is upholstered in a tightly stitched leather.
Renowned for its comfort, not only does the Karuselli chair swivel, but it also rocks.
The Karuselli chair is an iconic chair and desired by many, Terence Conran declared it as ‘the most comfortable chair I’ve ever sat in’
