We are thrilled to announce that Alan’s painting ‘My Favourite Chair’ has been selected to exhibit in John Moores Painting prize 2018.

The internationally-renowned John Moores Painting Prize is the UK’s longest-established painting prize, founded in 1957. Named after the sponsor of the prize, Sir John Moores (1896 – 1993), the competition is entered and judged anonymously and open to all UK-based artists working with paint.

Past winners of the art prize include David Hockney (1967), Mary Martin (1969), Peter Doig (1993), Keith Coventry (2010), Sarah Pickstone (2012) and Rose Wylie (2014). Sir Peter Blake, winner of the junior prize in 1961, is Patron of the prize.

You can come and see the painting and the rest of the selected works in the exhibition which will run from 14th July to 18th November at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
