My Favourite Chair at the John Moores Painting Prize 2018

The John Moores Painting prize is now open and you can come and see Alan’s painting ‘My Favourite Chair’ which is part of the exhibition.

If you do get a chance to visit, don’t forget to vote for the visitors choice prize, the exhibition runs from 14th July to 18th November at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.

The internationally-renowned John Moores Painting Prize is the UK’s longest-established painting prize, founded in 1957. Named after the sponsor of the prize, Sir John Moores (1896 – 1993), the competition is entered and judged anonymously and open to all UK-based artists working with paint.

Past winners of the art prize include David Hockney (1967), Mary Martin (1969), Peter Doig (1993), and Rose Wylie (2014). Sir Peter Blake, winner of the junior prize in 1961, is Patron of the prize.
